Outdoor interpretation
This is where we have built our reputation - creating interesting, long-lasting interpretation in public places. From basic (natural) heritage signs in parks to interpretation strategies for local authorities, we can support you with your plans and ideas.
When the Auckland Botanic Gardens asked us to develop some highly detailed maps for two of their most popular gardens, we knew this was a job for Mike, our illustrator. Mike worked on this project over a few months - visiting the gardens, taking photos, using aerial photos for reference and sketching the layout in four stages of increasing detail.
In 2012 Snapper Graphics created a suite of signs and displays for the Department of Conservation at Maungauika North Head. The project involved some innovations, which we’d like to share. Now the Maunga Authority are the kaitiaki (guardians) of this site, we are involved with a review and updates of these signs.
Basic interpretive signs - a selection of small projects covering local stories, using a simple template.

One of our largest and most exciting projects was developing the interpretation along the Timber Trail, now one of the most popular routes in Nga Haerenga The New Zealand Cycle Trail.
